  "GRUB_GFXMODE=0x0 may be harmful"
  After extensive testing here, I have one machine that produces a black screen
  with our old GRUB_GFXMODE= setting. I have two machines that
  are borderline unusable with GRUB_GFXMODE=0x0 because they have 2K and 4K
  displays and the RTX cards running from UEFI unaccelerated are incredibly
  slow. This also extends to the input, with attempts to select a menu item
  often skipping two or three lines.
  Clearly the only sane default setting is GRUB_TERMINAL=console.

  Move the call to rc.font from rc.M to rc.S, immediately after udev runs to
  initialize the KMS console. While I sort of liked it in rc.M because then
